The triannual meeting of the Governing body commission and the Temple President Body meeting of Srila Prabhupada’s Hare Krishna Movement was held from 5th to 8th April, 2017. This meeting was held at ISKCON Bangalore, Vaikuntha Hill, Kanakapura, Bengaluru.
The meetings were very intense and spanned over wide range of topics primarily centered around on practical application of instructions of Srila Prabhupada for furthering the Hare Krishna Movement’s mission.
One major session was fully dedicated on how to effectively use online medium for the purpose of spreading Krishna Consciousness. Some devotees who were also social media and online digital marketing experts gave presentation on the impact of social media on the lives of people and how Krishna Consciousness can play a positive role in transforming lives of people.
Shri Jai Chaitanya Dasa Temple President of Mysore gave a report on the progress made by the Mysore yatra. The Governing Body members congratulated the devotees from ISKCON Mysore for the successful completion of the foundation stone laying ceremony of Nava Brindavan Dham Cultural Centre at Mysuru, which was graced by His Excellency Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala, Governor of Karnataka; Mysuru District In-charge Minister, Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa; Her Highness, Dr. Pramoda Devi Wadiyar; MLA, M.K. Somashekar; Mysuru Mayor Shri M.J. Ravi Kumar; and leaders of the Hare Krishna Movement Shri Stoka Krishna Dasa and Shri Rajiv Lochan Dasa.
Various other temple leaders highlighted the progress of the preaching in their respective areas. During the early morning sessions all the governing body members and temple president body members were taken on a tour of the upcoming temple on Vaikuntha Hill.
Shri Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman of Governing Body himself explained the various architectural nuances of the upcoming Krishna Lila Park and temples of Govinda and Radha Krishna. The members were very pleased to see that the construction of the Krishna Lila Park was going at a quick pace on Vaikuntha Hill.
The devotees were overjoyed to discuss various kinds of developments of preaching programmes from the other centres and felt blissful discussing the successes and how each one is trying to overcome the challenges and hurdles they face in their respective areas.
The next meeting is scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad.
