The second day of the Brahmotsava celebrations at Sri Radha Krishna Temple, ISKCON Bangalore witnessed Their Lordships riding on the Ananta Shesha vahana, on April 3, 2015.
Sri Radha Krishnachandra adorned as Sri Lakshmi Narayana were seated on the Ananta Shesha vahana. A large number of devotees participated in pulling the vahana and chanting the Hare Krishna mantra loudly. It was a beautiful sight to watch Lord Krishna gorgeously decorated as Lord Narayana with four hands carrying the conch, wheel, mace and lotus flower and Srimati Radharani adorned as Goddess Lakshmi seated beside Him.
Srila Prabhupada says that, Radha-Krishna includes Lakshmi-Narayana but Radha-Krishna cannot be approached by the neophyte devotees. Therefore temple worship with regulative principles according to the instructions of the scriptures and the spiritual master is offered to Lakshmi-Narayana. In such cases, although there may be a Radha-Krishna vigraha, or form, the Lord accepts the service in the role of Lakshmi-Narayana. While Vishnu worship is the regulative devotional principle, Radha-Krishna worship is spontaneous service of eternal feelings.
Srila Prabhupada also says that one should spend his hard-earned money for the cause of the Lord. He should always think that the money which is accumulated is the wealth of the Lord. Wealth is considered to be the goddess of fortune (Lakshmi), and the Lord is Narayana, or the husband of Lakshmi. One should try to engage Lakshmi in the service of Lord Narayana and be happy. That is the way to realize the Lord in every sphere of life.
Regarding Ananta Shesha, Srila Prabhupada says that Lord Vishnu’s incarnation as the serpent, Ananta Shesha supports all the universes on His hoods. He knows nothing but service to Lord Krishna. He serves Vishnu as His mattress and protects Him from all atmospheric disturbances by making His heads like a canopy or umbrella. In this way, He supplies umbrella, bedding, slippers, and everything else personally required by Lord Vishnu.
After Vahanotsava, there was a video show of one of the Little Krishna animated series in which baby Krishna kills the demoness Putana. The video presentation also included a brief lecture of Srila Prabhupada on the opulences of Narayana, glimpses of a few of the major Vishnu Deities in India, and a Sanskrit verse which lists sixteen holy names of Lord Krishna and the occasions when one has to remember them.
Next there was dolotsava of Sri Lakshmi Narayana wherein the Deities were gently swayed on a flower bedecked swing by the devotees. During dolotsava, sangeeta seva was offered to Their Lordships by the FOLK kirtan team.
The celebrations concluded with shayana pallakki utsava followed by dinner prasadam to all the devotees.
