JAGATPUR April 22, 2018: A mesmerising five-day event was held on the occasion of sixth Patotsav (completion of six years) of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir managed by the Hare Krishna Movement (HKM) Jaipur.
This event is equivalent to Krishna Janmashtami, as on this day Lord Krishna and Balaram were invited to this temple after all Vedic rituals were performed.
Speaking on the occasion, His Grace Ratnangada Govinda Dasa, President of HKM Jaipur, said: “We wish that the Lord gives us His immense blessings so that we will be able to perform such events on a bigger scale every year and more people get the association of the temple and receive the blessings of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram, which will eventually lead to a graceful life in Krishna consciousness.”
The celebrations started with Sudarshana abhishek on April 18 with an elaborate havan, sankirtan and prasadam.
On April 20, a huge shobha yatra was held at Rajapark starting from Ram Mandir up to Sri Laxmi Narayan Mandir via main market. Thousands of people who included students from different universities, dignitaries and congregation participated in the shobha yatra to the accompaniment of dancing and singing of the Harinam sankirtan in front of the ratha.
The celebrations on April 22, the main festive day, included a day-long kirtan, 56 bhog offering, pallakki utsav with sankirtan, recital of prayers and mantras from Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam in the evening, followed by a grand abhishek with 108 types of juices.
