Hyderabad: The Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad celebrated Sri Gaura Purnima festival at Swayambhu  Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kshetram, Banjara Hills Road #12, NBT Nagar on Friday evening. 

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa (M.Tech IIT) – President of Hare Krishna Movement & President of Akshaya Patra Foundation (Telangana & AP) said that  “The Gaura Purnima festival is the appearance day of Sri  Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who  established the Hari nama Sankirtan Movement. Lord Sri Krishna appeared in the form of His own devotee at Navadvip, Mayapur in West Bengal in the year 1486 which was around 532 years ago." 

Sri Gaura Purnima 532nd anniversary was celebrated on Friday. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu distributed Hari nama sankitana & Japa for the age of Kali as a way of life to everybody without any discrimination like caste, religion, creed, etc. He taught his devotees the easiet spiritual path by doing sankitana & chanting the Maha mantra “Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare! Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare! 

As part of the festival, the Palakki utsavam of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai is celebrated. The Maha abhishekam of 108 Kalasas with a variety of  fruit juices, Flowers, Panchamritam,  Panchagavyam,  Sugandha Dravya was conducted. After that, Mangala Arati was offered to the Lord, using Dupa, Deepa, new dresses, ornaments, flowers. Around 2000 devotees participated and enjoyed the escatic Hari nama Sankirtan with devotion.

Devotees offered 108 varieties of  delicious items to the Lord as Raja Bhog like sweets, kara, pakoda, fruit juices and other eatables. 

Along with the huge number of devotees, some special guests from government  departments and other guests participated in the festival and  all the visitors to the   temple were provided all the facilities along with sumptuous prasadam.
