Priests performing rituals to mark the Panihati Chita-Dahi festival at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple on Sunday
Hyderabad: The Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Banjara Hills, reverberated with ‘Hari Nama Sankeertan’ as the Hare Krishna Movement celebrated Panihati Chida-Dahi here on Sunday.
The celebrations commenced at 5 pm with grand Abhishekam to Nitai Gauranga with Panchamritha (milk, curd, honey, etc), Hari Nama Sankeerthan, discourse, Maha Mangala Aarthi followed by a delicious feast.
Chida-Dahi festival bears significance as it remembers as to how the Lord mercifully reciprocated with the devotees by arranging to provide a feast of yoghurt and chipped rice, along with various other nectar foodstuffs.
Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Swami, president of Hare Krishna Movement, Telangana said Panihati Chida- Dahi festival shows the way to get the blessings of Lord, by serving his beloved devotees.
These festivals are celebrated to share the spiritual happiness to the devotees and to make everybody enthusiastically participate in devotional programmes of the temple, which in turn gives peace and prosperity to all, said a press release.
