Hare Krishna Mandir, Ahmedabad celebrated Sri Gaura Purnima festival, the divine appearance day of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, with grandeur and gaiety on 12th March 2017.

The day was filled with various festivities for the pleasure of Their Lordships Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga, beginning with the pallakki utsav. Their Lordships received a grand abhisheka with panchamrita, fruit juices, sacred herbs, and many other auspicious items.

As part of the abhisheka, They were also bathed with water from 7 holy rivers preserved in 108 kalashas (brass pots) as special bhajans were being sung glorifying Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. During the noon Rajbhog, Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga also received 108 varieties of food offerings.

The most stimulating event of the festival was maha-samprokshan. The assembled devotees were showered upon with the flowers and water that were offered to Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga during the abhisheka. Devotees sang and danced along with kirtans, as they enjoyed the mercy of Their Lordships being showered upon them.
