The Akshaya Patra Foundation (APF), Jaipur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Urban Development and Housing for the better management of Hingonia Goshala.
Akshaya Patra will set up a separate trust under the terms of the agreement which will also include officials from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC).
An official of the JMC said, "Akshaya Patra will take care of the animal hospital and the clinic that is located inside the Goshala. The MoU will be reviewed after six months. If we find that the operations of the Goshala have improved, then we will extend the time limit of our agreement with Akshaya Patra."
"The JMC will give Rs 70 to Rs 35 to Akshaya Patra for every cattle which is brought to the Goshala. Akshaya Patra will also provide fresh green fodder for the cattle and assist the civic body in managing the everyday affairs of the Goshala," another official added. After three months Akshaya Patra will invite independent experts to review the functioning of the Goshala.
