If one follows Lord Krishna's instructions in the Gita, it is certain that he will become free from doubts about one's duties and life
Have you ever wondered what this life is and why it is the way it is? Ever wondered what all these stars, planets and the world are about? Wanted to know why time is so powerful? Why this world is created? Who is God? Why so many Gods? Why bad things happen to good people? Why nobody seems to stop bad people? What is the material nature, etc.?
Yes, the answers to all these questions or any questions, are very much available in the Bhagavad Gita, which is considered the most prominent of the Upanishads.
Why does the Bhagavad Gita assume so much importance? The answer is simple. Bhagavad Gita is spoken by the Supreme Personality of Godhead who is the source of all that exists both in this world or in the spiritual world.
Krishna is the Original Bhagavan, the possessor of unlimited opulence. The Bhagavad Gita is the message spoken by Krishna, the Bhagavan. When Arjuna was in a critical dilemma of life, when he was broken because of emotional pressures of life, Lord Krishna spoke explained the Bhagavad Gita to dispel Arjuna’s doubts and ignorance about his duties. After hearing the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna says:
naṣṭo mohaḥ smṛtir labdhā
sthito ‘smi gata-sandehaḥ
kariṣye vacanaṁ tava
Arjuna says: My dear Kṛishṇa, O infallible one, my illusion is now gone. I have regained my memory by Your mercy. I am now firm and free from doubt and am prepared to act according to Your instructions.
Duties of life
Whatever may be our condition of life, if we surrender to Lord Krishna and follow His instructions in the Bhagavad Gita, it is certain that we will become firm and free from doubts about our duties and life. Such clarity of action and confidence cannot come from some personality development methods, mental tricks or positive thinking.
We can get clarity only when we understand the principles of life and world from the Bhagavad Gita, which is the most perfect theistic science which contains the essence of Vedic wisdom because it is directly spoken by the Almighty Himself. There is no need of any other scripture in order to perfect our lives.
One who regularly reads the Bhagavad Gita will attain perfection of life. But, Which Bhagavad Gita should be read? The answer to this question is simple:
Since Bhagavad Gita is spoken by Lord Sri Krishna, we should read Bhagavad Gita written by Krishna’s pure devotee. Unless we read Bhagavad Gita from a Krishna devotee, there is no possibility of getting perfection of life. As of now, there are hundreds of Bhagavad Gita versions in the market. You should choose a Bhagavad Gita which is written by Krishna’s devotee, a pure devotee.
Srila Prabhupada is a pure devotee of Lord Krishna from his childhood. He grew up a great devotee of Krishna and he accepted initiation from a great Parampara. On His guru’s order, 108 Sri Srimad Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswathi Goswami Maharaj, he wrote Bhagavad Gita purports and printed “Bhagavad-Gita AS IT IS” which depicts the original intent of the Lord coming in a timeless parampara.
Pure message of Gita
Srila Prabhupada is the current Acharya of HKM and 32nd Acharya in Sri Brahma Madwa Gaudiya Sampradaya who propagated the pure message of Bhagavad Gita all over the world. We should read Bhagavad Gita written by an Acharya of the Vaishnava Parampara. Otherwise, our confusion will remain and we will not be able to transform our life for good.
Lord Krishna spoke the Bhagavad Gita on Gita Jayanthi Day, which falls on December 18, 2018. HKM is celebrating the Gita Jayanthi by widely distributing the wisdom of Gita. Unhesitatingly, everyone can pick up a copy of the Gita and start reading it every day. This is the most wonderful step you would have ever taken in your life for your own welfare.
One who reads Bhagavad Gita every day and becomes a devotee of Krishna, then “Yatra Yogeshwaro Krishna…” one attains victory, wealth, morality without fail.
One should not listen to the rumours about the Bhagavad Gita, should keep a copy of the holy book in the house, worship it everyday by reading regularly, which will bring success in life.
Finally, Shankaracharya says:
“Let there be one single book”…
All glories to Srila Prabhupada! All Glories to Srimad Bhagavad Gita!
