Green Pudina Chutney

The evergreen, mint chutney is one of the most favourite accompaniments for both idlies and dosas.  It is very delicious chutney, made with the wonder herb, Pudina, which has a distinct aroma!  Super easy to prepare!


  • 1 tsp. Oil
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 cup freshly grated coconut
  • ½ cup mint leaves
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • 1 tbsp. chopped coriander leaves(optional)
  • Marble size tamarind
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp. mustard seeds

Method of Preparation:

  1. Grid coconut, mint leaves, green chilies, tamarind, coriander, salt into paste.
  2. Heat oil. Add mustard to it. After it finished popping, add asafoetida.
  3. Add the above seasoning to the ground paste.
  4. Offer it to Lord Krishna with hot rice, dosa or idly and honor it.

Preparation Time: 15 Minutes

Serving: 2 cups of chutney
