Agra: The 8,000 widows of Vrindavan and Mathura will be provided with meals by an organization called Akshaya Patra Foundation.

It has invited all widows residing in the holy city to be part of the event. Bharatarshabha Dasa, Director of Akshaya Patra Foundation said, “We have envisioned a world that is hunger free. We currently feed 17 lakh children across India.

We believe that everyone deserves a healthy, balanced meal, which is why we have opened our kitchens to the 8,000 widows residing in Mathura and Vrindavan to come and eat at our centres.” Presently, the foundation says that it feeds over 1,000 widows through its various distribution centres in Vrindavan.
